Stroke Recovery is a difficult journey. Right now, you are overwhelmed and doing your best to adjust to a new way of life. It is difficult but you are not alone. I suffered my stroke September 2022. I was not ready for everything in my life to change. I am a positive person and have practiced a positive attitude in my day-to-day life. This was different, I was in an Emergency Room with my left side paralyzed and I was terrified. As they wheeled me to get an MRI, positive was not how I felt. I had a talk with myself while I was in the MRI tube. If I truly believed that my attitude and my thoughts staying positive could help the outcome of this difficult situation what better time to start than now. I started to focus on recovery and not on loss. It helped me tremendously. I'm not saying I didn’t fall into a self-pity pool of tears more than once, but I did my best to recalibrate and get my focus back on the little wins.
